Volunteers needed for Healing Field (Article and photo taken from the Murfreesboro Post )
The Noon Exchange Club is seeking volunteers to assist with the second annual Flags of Remembrance - Healing Field over Memorial Day weekend - May 29, 30 and 31. Various shifts are available Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Assistance is needed 8 a.m. Saturday morning to install the assembled flags and plastic pipe poles over already installed rebar. This would be a great opportunity for various church and civic groups to do volunteer work, and by wearing their organization name to receive public recognition.
All weekend volunteers are needed to drive shuttle carts (must be 21 or older), assist visitors in finding their sponsored flag, work the information booth, guide people to other information or assist with traffic control.
An organization is needed to spend the night in the Field Saturday and Sunday Evening. Security is also needed all night on Medical Center Parkway as last year several flags were stolen during the night.
Also needed is an RV for the weekend, either donated or at low rent as it will not be driven. It's only use will be for Exchange Club members to take a break in the air-conditioned space.
Those desiring to volunteer may call the Noon Exchange Club information line at 615-641-0121 or send e-mail to Janet.bowman@midsouthbanking.com. Visit www.healingfield.org/murfreesboro for more information.
