Yes, there IS a Santa Claus!
A Computefor Christmas!

Thanks to a tremendously generous DONATION by a great
American company,
in Fayetteville, Tennessee!!

Rich Peoples, Founder and Hosts&Sponsors Coordinator of VetsNiteOut, met with long-time friend, Mr. Mike Wetherington of American Development Corp., at a TWWA (Tennessee Water and Wastewater) meeting hosted by ADC on the evening of Nov. 18th.

Mr. Wetherington was so impressed with what we're doing through VetsNiteOut, that after going over the "Wish List", he said he wanted to make sure the Vets at the Tennessee State Veterans Home get a new Computer for Christmas, and cut a check for one right there on the spot!

What a guy! Thank you Mike Wetherington and American Development Corp.!!

(If you'd like to know more about how ADC is making a difference in the Water Treatment Chemicals industry, check out their website at http://www.adc-chem.com .)

Thanks to the generous donations of our Sponsors, and the tremendous Support from our Hosts, VetsNiteOut really can and will make a difference in the lives of our Disabled Veterans residing in Nursing Homes!

Mr. Don Hall's Birthday Dinner was
absolutely fabulous!  (Actually, he said it
was PERFECT!)

Davy Crockett's in Murfreesboro prepared
the Prime Rib, Baked Potato and Salad
with Bleu Cheese dressing,
and even threw in a scrumptious
Strawberry Shortcake for good measure!

Rich Peoples, Hosts&Sponsors
Coordinator of VNO, picked up the meal
and rushed it to the Tennessee State
Veterans Home so it would still be warm
when he arrived!

The Facility's Activity Director,
Beverley Mallory, arranged a really nice
cluster of balloons that she tied to Mr. Hall's wheelchair, and the Dietary Staff
circulated a Birthday Card for signing and
presented him with a beautiful
Birthday Cake!

It was a great 80th Birthday Celebration!

(Editor's Note:  Davy Crockett's is a
chain of restaurants, and the Manager
of the Murfreesboro location is going to
speak to the 'powers that be' to see if t
hey'd like to become a VetsNiteOut Host!
Of course we  were thrilled with that
news... and Mr. Hall LOVED his Birthday
Dinner that they prepared!  Davy
Crockett's has a reputation for delicious
food, so keep your fingers crossed!)

Vets'Nite*Out
to Launch the New
BIRTHDAY CLUB!!!

Tomorrow, Nov. 19, 2008,  is the
80th Birthday of  Col. Donald Hall,
USAF Retired, and current Resident
of Tennessee State Veterans Home
in Murfreesboro, TN!

To celebrate, we thought it would be nice
to bring in the dinner of his choice and
serve him right there at the Veterans
Home!  (VetsNiteIn?)

So, we asked him what he'd like to have for
his Birthday Dinner.

Without even the slightest hesitation,
he rattled off:

"Prime Rib, rare ...Baked Potato with
butter and sour cream ... and salad with
Bleu Cheese dressing."

(Editor's Note:  Wow ... if he'd said
'Caesar Salad', I'd have sworn the guy
was reading my mind ...exactly MY kind
of 'Birthday Dinner', that's for sure!)

So... we've already contacted Davy
Crockett's in Murfreesboro, and
tomorrow we will be there to pick up
Mr. Hall's fine Birthday Dinner and deliver
it to him!

(Editor's Note:  The Manager of Davy
Crockett's was not in today when Rich
Peoples (Founder of VetsNiteOut)
inquired, so we don't know at this point
whether or not they will become one of
our Hosts ... but the Birthday Meal
has been ordered regardless ...
and will be delivered by
Rich  Peoples himself,  tomorrow!
WooHoo!)

HAPPY 80th  BIRTHDAY
  DON  HALL!!!

11-11-2008 HAPPY VETERANS DAY!

Our VetsNiteOut PIZZA PARTY yesterday,
in celebration of Veterans Day 2008,
couldn't have come off any better if we'd
had a month to plan it rather than 2 weeks!

 EVERYONE had a fantastic time!

When Rich Peoples, Founder and
Hosts&Sponsors Coordinator of
VetsNite Out, arrived with all the Pizzas,
the Tennessee State Veterans Home
already had a cart waiting in the Lobby
for him to load and haul them to the
Dining Room ...  where  many of the
resident Veterans had already assembled
and were waiting patiently!

Then the call went out over the paging
system that the Pizza Party was about to
begin, and the Dining Room started
filling up!

Pizza-Pizza Everywhere!  No one left that
Party hungry for Pizza, that's for sure ...
thanks to the generosity of VetsNiteOut
HOST Little Caesar's Pizza on Memorial
Blvd. in Murfreesboro, TN who was
PROUD to provide ALL of the Pizza for
the Party... that's right ... ALL!!!

A heartfelt Thank You Little Caesar's,
from VetsNiteOut and the Veterans at
Tennessee State Veterans Home in
Murfreesboro, TN. for a fantastic
Veterans Day Pizza Party!

(Editor's note:  While probably
everyone loves a Pizza Party ...
it would be hard to imaging anyone
ENJOYING it more than this group
of disabled Vets!
Sure wish you could have been there!)

A PIZZA PARTY for the Veterans at
Tennessee State Veterans Home in
Murfreesboro, TN ... in honor of Veterans
Day, of course ... is scheduled for 2:oop.m.
on Monday, November 10, 2008,
the day before Veterans Day!

While VetsNiteOut has been raising money
for the Event the past two Saturdays at
Bumpus Harley-Davidson in
Murfreesboro, TN, with a Biscuits 'N Gravy
Fundraiser Breakfast, the owner of Little Caesar'sPizza at 1811 Memorial Blvd. in Murfreesboro told Rich Peoples that,
rather than giving us a nice discount on
the Pizzas,  he would like to donate  all t
he Pizzas to the Vets for the Party!

Wow! Unbelievable ... the generosity of
our Hosts and Sponsors!  Thank you so
much, Little Caesar's!

Now we will use the funds collected for the
Pizza Party for some other needs!

KARIN'S KUSTARD in Smyrna, TN
treated Vets from Boulevard Terrace
Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in
Murfreesboro, TN, and the Care Staff who accompanied them, to a great time on
Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.

Everyone enjoyed hamburgers, fries,
soft drinks and ice cream in the open air
at  Karin Poling's picnic tables on one of
the  most gorgeous fall days we've had this
season!  What perfect weather for a
"picnic"!

Everyone loved it and and was so happy
to be enjoying such a great meal out in the
fresh air!  Karin came out from behind the grill several times to make sure everyone
had everything they wanted, and told
them how happy she was to have them
there!

Bob presented the official Vets'Nite*Out
Certificate of Appreciation to Karin
herself. Thank you for a great time Karin!
