Clay Hill of Murfreesboro Water and
Sewer, and a Supporter of VetsNiteOut,
had wanted to contribute something to
the Veterans for Christmas, but waited
to find out what was still needed.
Today he gifted the Vets with a "Steering Wheel" and 2 great Wii games ... one
with a "monster trucks" theme which
they'll surely love!
Thanks for caring Clay!

Vets'Nite*Out has purchased a brand
new Karaoke machine for the Vets at
TSVH. While it is a very nice one, it
didn't come with a wireless microphone,
which we understand would be much
better, so we will be getting one of those.
Rock on ...!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: We were
disappointed to learn that the receiving facility was not going to
be able to ensure Internet access for
the new Computer offered to the Vets
for Christmas, and since
we feel that a computer without
internet access would be of little
value to the Veterans, we consulted
with ADC Corp. (who, as you know,
originally donated the money for
the new computer) and it was decided
that we would substitute more
useable items for the Veterans at
this time.
Our heartfelt THANKS to American Development Corporation in
Fayetteville, Tn, for their most
generous donation, and to Jamie
Martin of Computers Plus on
Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, Tn,
for the tremendous discount he offered
to us on the computer for the Veterans!
Vets'Nite*Out
is so fortunate to have folks like these
among our Supporters! Thank you
from the bottom of our hearts!
Now, I guess we'd better go shopping!

Happy
New Year!!!
Wishing you and yours the
very best of everything...
in the coming year ...and always!
The first of a New Year seems like an especially good time to thank all of our wonderful Hosts&Sponsors who so proudly and generously provided some really great times for our Vets last year!
(If it wasn't for all of you, Vets'Nite*Out would be little more than a "catchy"
name.)
Ok, so let's see where we've been and where we're going!
2008 Recap: What was accomplished in a few short months:
September:
The idea for a Vets'Nite*Out was born!
Richard Peoples, Sr., Founder and Hosts&Sponsors Coordinator of VetsNiteOut, started calling on different restaurants and businesses which he thought just might be proud to offer a Nite*Out, or other consideration, as a "Token of Appreciation" for our Disabled Veterans residing in Nursing Homes ... (who were proud to serve our great Nation and preserve our freedom)
...
and he was astonished at the overwhelmingly positive response!
Everyone he's talked to so far thinks VetsNiteOut is a wonderful idea, and
they are thrilled to be a part of it!
We spent September and October
talking to people, planning, and designing and ordering business cards, flyers, postcards, etc, from
VistaPrint (the
best place in the world to order just about any kind of printing, by the way. Can't say enough good about them... they are full-service, easy to use, get your order ready and send it out super f-a-s-t!
We are so impressed with Vista-Print , we even have this website through them!
(Pretty nice, huh?)
And while we were "getting our ducks in a row" we still had
Hosts, Sponsors and Supporters committing to Vets'Nite*Out ...way before we even got the first group of Vets out the door!
October:
October 29th: We finally got the first
group of Vets out to
BUSTER'S Place... and we've been rolling ever since!
(As a matter of fact, Buster 's hosted the Vets in October and again in November!) YOU ROCK BUSTER!
November:
KARIN'S KUSTARD in Smyrna, Tn, hosted Vets from Boulevard Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Home
to an outdoor picnic on a the most gorgeous fall day!
Vets'Nite*Out held 2 "Gravy&Biscuit Breakfast Fundraisers" at
BUMPUS Murfreesboro, TN supplying their world-famous Biscuits! Ummmm good!
Murfreesboro, treated the Vets at Tennessee State Veterans Home to
PIZZA-PIZZA in honor of Veterans Day! WooHoo!
We had several new HOSTS, SPONSORS
and SUPPORTERS join up with us to help "further the cause!":
the best Water & Wastewater Chemicals Supplier in the U.S. and Canada!
(Ok, so maybe we're a little partial ...
but if you knew this great bunch of folks, you would be, too!)
Vets'Nite*Out BIRTHDAY CLUB
was born!
HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY MR. HALL! VetsNiteOut brought brought him a wonderful PRIME RIB dinner from
DAVY CROCKETT'S in Murfreesboro, Tn.
Back to
BUSTER'S PLACE ...WooHoo! Not only was Buster (Steve Crockerell) happy to see them, he even had little flag pins waiting for them! How nice is that???
December:
hosted Vets to sample their vast miriad
of varieties... (boy ... they are going to have to cut those slices a whole lot
smaller if anyone is ever going to be
able to sample even a portion of all of
the different ones they have! Whoever thought there could be that many
different kinds of pizza????)
BIRTHDAY CLUB: Happy 65th Birthday Mr. Kenslow!
VetsNiteOut was happy to grant his Birthday Wish for Lemon Meringue Pie!
on board as a Supporter of VetsNiteOut!
And so did the
CITY CAFE in Murfreesboro, Tn...
in Murfreesboro, TN, offered Vets'Nite*Out a HUMONGOUS
DISCOUNT on a fabulous new
computer for the Vets for Christmas!
(IMPORTANT NOTE: Actual delivery of the computer is still pending acceptance of Vets'Nite*Out's stipulation that the computer be hooked up to the Internet,
as email and search capability was the original idea behind providing the Vets with a new computer.
We strongly feel that the limited use of a brand new computer without Internet access would not only be a veritable "waste" of good equipment, but also a gross misuse of donations entrusted to
us for same by Mr. Mike Wetherington
of American Development
Corporation. In the event Internet access cannot be assured for the computer, then we have ADC's ok to provide other, more acceptable items.)
Murfreesboro, TN, hosted Vets from Tennessee State Veterans Home to
great food, drinks, music and just a GREAT TIME in general!
January:
WOW! It looks like we've come a long
way and made a good start in just these past few short months!
And now it's the end of the Old Year and the beginning of the New ... !
From the looks of things so far ...
...by the Grace of God, and with a little more luck, and the help of all our very generous Hosts, Sponsors and
Supporters, I'd say the Vets are going
to have a VERY Happy New Year!
Cheers!
